NiT GriT

One frequent Criticism of electronic music is that it’s synthetically generated sounds lack the capacity to induced the same level of emotion as live instrumentation. San Jose dubstep produced NiT GriT casts aside these doubts, shattering common misconceptions with his incredibly inspired and deeply personal sound. Feelings of rage, passion, betrayal, uncertainty and other meaningful elements of the human experience are all distinctly presenting the dark and brooding melodies woven from the very fabric of NiT GriT’s imagination. Completely unlike any other performance, NiT GriT appears on-stage as a living titan of bass, possessed as if infused with the colossal power of his own thunderous bass-lines. NiT GriT boldly demolishes genre norms, demonstrating beyond any doubt that even an often over-used formula can yield phenomenal results when imbued with deep personal honesty and a devout attention to the most minute details. His profound success as a self-built independent musician coupled with his heartfelt, soulful compositions serve as an inspiration to fans and fellow musicians alike. With nearly all of his tracks appearing almost instantaneously on SoundCloud’s weekly “What’s Hot” charts. NiT GriT has developed a reputation as an absolutely viral internet phenomenon. However, despite his rapid rise as a pioneer of the American dubstep sound, NiT GriT remains a person musical project, built from the ground up by the always humble Danny Beall.

Conspirator

2011 has been a seminal year for Conspirator. Formed in 2004 by Aron Magner and Marc Brownstein (The Disco Biscuits’ keyboardist and bass player) along with New York producer DJ Omen, Conspirator has taken on many forms through the years. With the recent addition of virtuoso guitarist Chris Michetti and stalwart drummers Darren Shearer (the New Deal) and Mike Greenfield (Lotus), Conspirator has reached a new level. As a full band, the music is hitting new highs, and with the addition of an arsenal of new material, crowds across the nation have begun to catch on. Conspirator can no longer be considered merely a side-project, but must be looked at entirely as its own entity. Coming off of break-out performances at Ultra Music Festival and Nocturnal Festival, Conspirator has begun to catch the eye of electronic music aficionados everywhere. Refusing to be pigeon-holed into one genre, they explore the many realms of electronic music, effortlessly slipping between house, dub-step, drum and bass, and electro. Check out Conspirator at one of the many festivals they are appearing at this Summer: Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, Liberate Festival, Catskill Chill, and more.

Two Fresh

Combining an array of influences and a diverse musical background, Two Fresh’s sound is difficult to describe but impossible to ignore. Built on a foundation of instrumental hip hop, their music seamlessly incorporates elements of sampling, a tight low end and catchy synth lines, with a strong beat always at the cornerstone. On stage, audiences are treated to the addition of Colby Buckler, regarded as one of the strongest drummers in the live electronic music scene today. This energetic trio continues to bring exciting new performances to crowds across the country as their sound naturally evolves. Before twin brothers Kendrick and Sherwyn Nicholls even turned 21, Two Fresh had already landed a label signing with 1320 Records on the merit of extensive successful touring across the east coast. Within a short few months, their first album “The Baker’s Dozen” was released to their devoted fan base. Fast forward to 2011 and Two Fresh has already graced the lineups of multiple major US festivals including SXSW, Electric Daisy Carnival, Wakarusa, Starscape and North Coast. Alongside fellow producers Jables and Bookworm, Two Fresh established the Lab Coat beat collective in the musical hotbed of Asheville, NC. Together Two Fresh and Lab Coat bring a new presentation and sound to electronic music in the Southeast region. Make sure to get Two Fresh’s sophomore debut album “Air Mail,” available now on Elm and Oak, 1320 Records, Itunes, Boomkat, and Bleep.
