Panache presents Soul Clap, the NY dance competition that gained notoriety for bringing together raucous crowds of young and old folks who want to dance and prove that they know how to shake their moneymaker.  Created by the infamous Mr. Jonathan Toubin, who has gained a reputation for spinning first rate funk and soul and will DJ the contest, which will be determined by celebrity panelist judges including Zachary Hruby (Zac Institute), Aimee Hennessy (La Dolce Video), Bryan Phillips (Big Pete’s Pizzaria), Jesse Pearson (Buffy Swayze, Arrogant Hare), Victor Temple (New World Ballet) and Monica Topping (KSLG) and Michelle Cable (Panache Booking)

In only two years New York Night Train Conductor and Soul Proprietor Mr. Jonathan Toubin has permanently altered the face of nightlife in the wormy apple with his revolutionary parties and wild and woolly approach to 45 rpm maximum rock and soul music. Tirelessly chugging deep into morning after morning everywhere from dive bars to underground live music venues to art spaces to giant discos in over 300 gigs coast to coast in 2008 including Mardi Gras, South By Southwest, and two stints in Los Angeles. Mr. Toubin’s uncompromising labor of love has paid off not only with his scores of converts, or the DJs, parties, and clubs he’s inspired to adopt the reckless pulse raw immediate timeless song-oriented beats, but also in a spectacular multimedia approach to nightlife that incorporates artfully juxtaposed pre-recorded music, live music, performance, visual art, competitions, celebrity, and, of course, dance.
