In The Phantom Planet (1961), astronaut Frank Chapman, played by Dean Fredericks, while traveling though space encounters a race of tiny people on a distant planet. Due to the planet’s unusual atmosphere, he is shrunk to six inches in size. Before he finds the remedy to this situation, he is lured by two beautiful women and decides to help the inhabitants of the planet battle an invading race of monsters known as the Solarites.
Assignment Outer Space (aka Space Men) is a 1960 science fiction film starring Rik Van Nutter and directed by Antonio Margheriti. It follows an assignment by Interplanetary News reporter Ray Peterson aboard a space station in the 21st Century. Despite problems with the base commander he is eventually responsible for stopping a space ship which threatens to destroy the Earth, though the astronauts sent to save the earth lose focus on the mission when they decide to save a sexy temptress from celibacy.
